When you look at yourself in the mirror, what do you see? Our world and its standards are telling us that what we look like is all that matters. It doesn't matter what your heart is like, or if you're happy, just if you're pretty on the outside. It's crazy how messed up our minds are. We've forgotten that all of this outward beauty that we create will just fade away. Nothing on this earth is going to last forever. Your soul? That will last forever. So why do we let ourselves get consumed by this idea of making ourselves "beautiful"? I truly believe that you don't need to add anything to yourself to make yourself "beautiful" if you have a beautiful heart and mind, then you are truly beautiful. You were created perfectly. There were no mistakes made when God formed you. The little things you don't like about yourself shouldn't try to be "fixed", you don't have to "fix" anything about yourself. Instead fix your eyes on God, because all of this earth will fade away. It's not worth it. Earthly beauty, slaving away after the achievement of popularity and status and followers means nothing in the end. Jesus didn't go around making himself look better so more people would follow him. He didn't go around begging people to follow him either. He knew his worth was not in people and their opinions, but his worth was in God alone. And yours is too. You are worth so much more than what people tell you or try to make you be like. You are God's precious and beloved child. And he wants to give you his kingdom, but you have to be willing to give up the fading things of the world. They aren't worth it compared to what God can give you.
"Think of how much the Father loves us. He loves us so much that he lets us be called His children, as we truly are. But since the people of this world did not know who Christ is, they do not know who we are." -1 John 3:1
